A Day In The Life Of Our Bromley Branch

The day begins
We are early risers here at our Bromley branch, so our day starts at 8.30/8.45am when we arrive and open up – switching everything on and getting ready for patients. Well, as soon as we’ve put the kettle on of course.
Preparing to deliver the best service

Our senior audiologist at our Bromley branch, Ana Rodrigues, always starts her day checking the specialist clinical equipment, running tests and making any adjustments before her first patient arrives.
“I want my equipment to give accurate data at all times – only the best for my patients!” said Ana. “My patients come to Hearbase Bromley as we focus on the quality of care, and because we provide a comfortable, clean and professional environment.
“It is important to me that our patients are welcomed with a smile, and we take genuine pleasure in getting to know everyone who comes in for help. Having fun and being friendly is a key part of who I am and how I like to work with my patients.”
A busy clinic through the day

From when the doors open at 9am to when we see our last patient at 5pm, our Bromley branch is a busy, bustling clinic offering hearing tests and assessments alongside ear wax removal procedures and more.
We can see between 12 and 15 patients every day and Ana also carries out home visits every Wednesday, when our specialist ear care practitioner, Damien Emsley, is in branch working.
“I see patients of all ages and backgrounds in our Bromley clinic for ear care,” Damien said. “The equipment I use is some of the latest technology available – including the Tympa Health microsuction system, which lets me take pictures so patients can see before and after photos if they want to! Though understandably, some don’t…”
While Damien is busy cleaning ears on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Ana travels throughout the community on her home visits so that even the most vulnerable of our patients can benefit from her care and get the best support for their hearing.
When you push the door open you are greeted with a smile

Every patient at our Bromley branch will be greeted by our two experienced and dedicated members of the reception team, and always with a smile. Tracey Coyne usually works in branch on Mondays and Tuesdays and Tracy Doyle works on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with both helping in our Saturday clinics.
“We will always welcome every patient with a warm greeting and try to put them at ease,” said Tracey Coyne. “Especially if someone is nervous about having a procedure – people can be sensitive about their ears sometimes and we understand. We always try to make patients feel that they are important and will always go that extra mile to make sure their visit is a pleasant one.”

“I love working at Hearbase Bromley and being part of my local community,” said Tracy Doyle. “I live near to the branch and walk in to work every day – got to get those steps up! As I’m walking, I look forward to another busy day helping and supporting Ana’s patients.
“Whether that is booking them in for a follow-up appointment, or arranging repairs and organising the branch deliveries, every part of what I do is part of someone’s journey to better hearing and I like that feeling. There is never a dull day at Hearbase Bromley!”
Getting ready for another day
When the last patient has left, the team finish updating notes and making final confirmation calls to patients booked in the following day. Then a thorough clean of all surfaces, chairs, equipment and high-touch areas in the branch – we are still following strict COVID guidelines – and we power off and lock up for the next day. We are even open on Saturday mornings and run a special ear wax removal clinic then, so that those who work in the week can have the procedure done conveniently.
We look forward to seeing you soon
