Finding Out What’s New In The World Of Hearing

Our managing director Mark Scutchings attended the Hearing Expo 2021, organised by the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals.
It took place in Burton upon Trent and independent hearing professionals from all over the UK attended to hear talks from experts and to catch up with colleagues in the first face-to-face event since the pandemic started.
There were talks about many subjects, including the possible connection between Covid, hearing loss and tinnitus, listening and understanding speech and one called Is hearing our social sense?
Workshops also took place, including one designed for non-audiological staff to learn more about hearing aid repairs and how to pair phones to manufacturers’ apps.
Great opportunity
During breaks between talks and demonstrations the attendees could visit the exhibitions featuring new products from the various hearing aid manufacturers and other companies connected with hearing health and technology.
The day finished with the annual awards evening recognising the contribution to hearing healthcare from independent hearing companies and their staff.
Mark Scutchings, our managing director, said: “This was a great opportunity to meet the hearing aid manufacturers for the first time in 18 months to get up-to-date information on the latest products. Although we have been talking over the web during the lockdowns, this first face-to-face event was an important step to business as usual.”
