More Great Music From Award-Winning Trio

As part of our commitment to the arts locally we’re supporting Canterbury Music Club’s 80th anniversary season.
The club’s next concert – at 3pm on Sunday, January 23 – features The Mithras Trio, an award-winning ensemble of young musicians who have been praised for their ‘exquisite phrasing’, ‘full-blooded commitment’ and ‘bold, passionate colours’.’
They were formed in 2017 while at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and are members of the prestigious BBC New Generation Artists scheme, broadcasting regularly on BBC Radio 3. They have also won many other awards.
Passionate
The trio are also passionate exponents of contemporary music and gave the world première of a new piece by Péter Tornyai at the Solti Hall in Budapest. He dedicated the work to the Mithras Trio after working with them.
The concert on January 23 takes place at the magnificent Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University, Canterbury and the programme features Haydn’s, Piano Trio in G Major, Hob. XV:41, Faure’s Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 120 and the Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67 by Shostakovich.
If you can’t attend this performance why not book a ticket to watch the live stream of the concert at home.
