New Services Offered By Hi Kent

Hi Kent

The charity Hi Kent has set up new services to help people in the county who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Counselling Service

If you have a hearing loss or have been affected in any way by hearing loss and you need to speak about it to someone confidentially, then you can speak to Hi Kent’s British Association For Counselling And Psychotherapy trained counsellor.

Sessions are held either online, on the telephone or, sometimes, face-to-face and the first six sessions are free of charge. Email counselling@hikent.org.uk or ring 01622 691151.

Technology Support For People With Hearing Loss

Do you need help with the technology in your life?  Phones, tablets, computers etc?  Hi Kent is now offering an advice service to help you use these so that you can easily access appointments for doctors, vaccinations etc and online shopping. Email enquiries@hikent.org.uk or ring 01622 691151.

Walking Groups For People With Hearing Loss

Would you like to get together in the open air with other people with hearing loss to talk and walk?  Contact Hi Kent, leave your details and they will let you know where your nearest group is – email enquiries@hikent.org.uk or ring 01622 691151.

Plenty of help available

Wellbeing Gateway Service

Hi Kent’s free wellbeing service offers extra help to people with hearing loss. You may need help with completing a form or be pointed in the right direction to resolve an issue that is bothering you.

Please contact Hi Kent and it will make an appointment for you to talk to someone. This can be on the phone, by email, on a video platform or by coming in to see someone.  If your first language is British Sign Language Hi Kent will arrange for you to talk to a professional signer – email enquiries@hikent.org.uk or ring 01622 691151 to find out more.
