Tinnitus Awareness Week – Hearbase

Tinnitus Awareness Week

Tinnitus Awareness Week

Tinnitus Awareness Week starts today and this year’s theme is Tinnitus Research.

Organised by the British Tinnitus Association, an independent charity, it takes place each year.

Among the BTA’s aims are encouraging prevention of the condition and seeking effective treatment through a medical research programme.

Research is key

A BTA spokesman said: “Without research, we won’t find a cure for tinnitus. Tinnitus Week is a great opportunity to show research. We will be sharing lots of information on our website and also on our social media streams.

“Research has been, and always will be, a key priority for us at the BTA. It is important that we balance research priorities with helping the thousands of people who contact us each year needing support and advice. But research is something which is never far from our thoughts and actions. It’s something we are all very passionate about and are pushing for.”

More details about this are on the charity’s website where there are also features, information and advice about the condition.

The charity also publicises its campaigns through active social media channels. It is also hoping supporters will sign a petition asking the government for more money for tinnitus research.
