We’re Sponsoring Festival Concert With Its Stunning Range Of Soloists

Hearbase and Canterbury Festival

Festival Chamber Orchestra aims to capture the English soul

The English Soul is the title of a Canterbury Festival concert which we are pleased to sponsor.

It is taking place on Saturday, October 22 at 7.30pm in the stunning Great Hall at Kent College in Canterbury.

The concert aims to capture the emotive and spiritual nature of Englishness through classical and popular music.

From Purcell to the Moody Blues, Vaughan Williams to a World Premiere of a new work by composer and arranger Michael McDermott, the programme has been chosen to complement the range of stunning soloists – Iain Ballamy, John Harle, David Rees Williams, Ian Shaw and Alison Teale.

The concert, which hopes to encapsulate the essence of the English soul, will be staged by The Festival Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Barlow.

Our managing director Mark Scutchings said: “As a company we are always keen on supporting the arts locally and in addition to sponsoring the Festival Chamber Orchestra we are corporate sponsors of Canterbury Festival. We also support Deal Music and Arts and Canterbury Music Club.”

Amanda McKean, Canterbury Festival’s deputy director, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Hearbase is supporting us again.

“It is very reassuring for people to see respected local businesses loyally supporting our work and this commitment from our sponsors is so important and we are so appreciative of it.

“Financial stability is vital for festivals and it is wonderful to see sponsors such as Hearbase wanting to support arts and culture in the region.”

Tickets for the concert on October 22 are £25, £15 students, including £1.50 booking fee. They can be booked here.

This year’s Canterbury Festival runs from October 15 to November 5. See more details here.
