Diagnostic Hearing Tests

Hearing tests

Are conducted in an audiometric booth where you will listen to sounds played through headphones and the audiologist will plot your hearing level on an audiogram.

Is an examination of the mechanical integrity of the middle ear. The results are viewed in conjunction with the audiogram to give a comprehensive view of the status of your ears and hearing.

Oto-acoustic emissions

Are a reliable indicator of inner ear function. They are useful because they are the basis of a simple, non-invasive, test for hearing defects which cannot always be detected by the conventional test battery

Speech tests

Are a means of understanding the ability of an individual to hear in real world situations and can be particularly useful in cases where an individual has a normal hearing test result but experiences difficulty understanding speech.
