I discovered my passion for audiology in 2017, starting as a hearing care assistant at Specsavers. I joined Hearbase in 2018, graduating as a hearing aid audiologist at Anglia Ruskin University in 2020. I am currently still studying towards enlarging my scope of practice and knowledge base.
Why audiology? I love music, listening to stories and enjoy conversations with family and friends. It’s deeply rewarding to bring this possibility to others and to have the opportunity to actively contribute to improving a patient’s quality of life.
Fiona joined Hearbase in 2018. She has an extensive career in audiology, working for decades in the National Health Service.
She trained at The Institute of Laryngology and Otology and The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London, working there in several specialities, including adult rehab, neuro-otology and paediatrics. Fiona has also worked as a research assistant.
Having moved to Kent to raise her family she specialised in diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, tinnitus and sound sensitivity management and continues this field of interest with Hearbase.
Fiona believes in using individual holistic client-focussed management plans, which she tailors to each client’s needs. She is a registered senior audiologist and hearing aid dispenser.
In her spare time Fiona continues her keen interest in oceanography and marine biology which she studied at the University of Southampton.
She also enjoys writing poetry, painting and photography.
