If you are an Oticon hearing aid wearer who uses the Oticon On app, you need to know about the latest upgrade.

The On app is being retired and replaced with the new Oticon Companion app. This improves reliability and adds some new features, including improved help and troubleshooting.

As well as getting a bit of a face-lift, the new app also allows your audiologist to tune your hearing aids remotely. This was previously part of a separate app.

Here are some of the things that you can do with the app:

Volume adjustments
Programme changes
Battery information
Streaming equaliser
Sound Booster
Find My Hearing Aid

Apple devices

All Oticon hearing aids with 2.4 GHz Bluetooth® technology (eg Opn, Siya, Xceed, Xceed Play, Opn S™, Ruby, etc) can be used with Apple devices to make adjustments to hearing aids. These include changes to volume, programme changes and the ability to turn on Live Listen (turns the phone into a remote microphone).

To access these controls you can select setting > accessibility > hearing devices and then select your hearing aids.

You can also access the controls by using the accessibility shortcut. To set this up go to settings > accessibility > accessibility shortcut and from the list of items select MFi hearing devices.

Once set up you can access the hearing aid controls by triple clicking on the side button for iPhone X or later. For older devices quickly click on the home button three times.

If you would like to read the full instructions for setting up the new app, you can find them here:

For the less technically minded, you can arrange an appointment with your audiologist at any of our branches and they will help you set up the remote functions on your hearing aids.

If you have avoided using the remote features of your Oticon hearing aids until now, there has never been a better time to give it a try so that you are taking full advantage of everything that Oticon technology has to offer.
