Oticon has just launched the new Oticon Intent, a range of hearing aids with four levels of technology.

They use your movements, the environment and the conversation around you to recognise what you want and need to listen to. They adapt seamlessly to deliver truly personalised support, letting you stay focused on the moments that matter.

The underlying technology brings together background noise reduction, directional hearing and tiny gyroscopes and accelerometers within the hearing aids. This allows the devices to understand how you are moving at any moment and fine tune various aspects of the hearing aids’ function accordingly.

Challenges

The new Oticon Intent

At the most basic level, if we are stationary, we are generally facing the thing that we are listening to, but if we are moving around, it is much more likely that the sounds of interest will be coming from the side.

For the first time, hearing aids can understand these differences and respond accordingly.

Facing the daily challenge of hearing conversations in noisy environments can be especially tough for individuals with significant hearing loss.

This new technology uses your movements, the environment and the conversation around you to recognise what you want and need to listen to. They adapt seamlessly to deliver truly personalised support., letting you stay focused on the moments that matter.

The four levels of technology in the new Oticon Intent range mean that there is a model right for you. The Intent hearing aids start with technology for those with relatively simple hearing needs, focusing mainly on face-to-face conversations in relatively noise-free environments. They go right up to the top of the range models for those who need to hear well in the most challenging social situations with high levels of background noise.
